Therapy for  teens is offered in-person in my Pacifica office, via walking therapy or virtually throughout CA.

Teenagers currently live in a world that is heavily influenced by the expectations of social media and are struggling more than ever with mental health concerns such as low self-esteem, depression, generalized anxiety, and social anxiety.

Many of these issues were brought on or exacerbated by COVID-19, whereas teenagers missed typical developmental tasks due to distance learning and isolation. I assist teenagers in navigating and processing these missed developmental tasks and mental health symptoms.

My work with teenagers begins by creating a strong therapeutic bond, which is nurtured and sustained throughout the therapy process.

Building trust is paramount in my practice, and all personal information shared during our sessions will be kept confidential between your teenager and me, unless your teenager decides to share the information with you, or unless there are safety concerns that need to be addressed, which is discussed in greater detail during the intake process. This ensures that your teenager has a neutral and private space in which they can process the areas they are struggling in.

I believe parents are crucial in their teenager’s treatment.

I will always be happy to share the general interventions and skill building techniques that are being taught in sessions, and how best to follow up at home.

During the skill building phase of treatment, I rely on practical and easy-to-grasp interventions utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to address the emotional distress your teen is facing.

I also offer walking therapy, which can be a great conduit for teens to express themselves more openly.
