Therapy for  children and  parents is offered in-person in my Pacifica office.

I combine my foundational approach of Person-Centered Counseling with other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy and Art Therapy to promote emotional regulation, teach coping skills, and manage symptoms of anxiety, social anxiety, separation anxiety, depression, trauma and ADHD, among others.

During the initial phases of treatment, I adopt a non-directive approach, prioritizing the establishment of a strong therapeutic relationship with your child. Once this relationship is firmly rooted, I will gradually incorporate more directive techniques tailored to your child’s specific needs.

Through ongoing assessments and an understanding of your child, I will explore various modalities and interventions to ensure the most effective and beneficial approach for your child’s well-being.

I believe in a collaborative partnership with parents, offering ongoing support to enhance effective communication within the family.

While working with your child, I schedule regular parent sessions approximately every 4-6 weeks. These sessions are designed to offer you support and guidance in implementing the strategies and insights gained during therapy sessions into your home environment. It is also invaluable for me to hear directly from parents current functioning at home, so we can adjust treatment as needed.

I enjoy assisting parents in refining family rules, beliefs, and routines. Additionally, I help you explore effective methods of discipline that are tailored to your child’s age, temperament, and developmental stage. This collaborative approach ensures a harmonious and supportive therapeutic journey for both you and your child.
